Lessons, Jams, and Musical Connections

NU BLU BLUEGRASS BAND in CONCERT!  SUNDAY MAY 26th, 3:30pm.

Come and join us in the yard if the weather is nice, or in the house if it's raining.  There will be a "jamming with the band" workshop from 1:30-3:00pm.  Call or donate $15 through paypal to reserve a seat, seating will be limited inside, and $20 will cover the workshop.  Bring a blanket or lawnchair, snacks, and we'll have beer and soda. 

Who we are........

Conveniently located at the southern end of downtown Lawrence, The Americana Music Academy offers group and private music lessons in a relaxed setting with some of the region's most notable pickers, players, singers and songwriters.  Americana provides a rich community of musicians of all ages, styles and musical abilities. 

Americana  Music Academy is a focal point for musicians throughout the region: We jam together, expand each other's musical horizons and do whatever we can to spread the word about American roots music -- blues, jazz, bluegrass, rock, folk and all the other musical traditions that feed into and express the complexity of our unique culture. We come from all walks of life and all economic strata -- our connective tissue is the music we make and appreciate together.

We you invite you to join us wherever you are in your musical journey and help us bring more and more music into our families, schools, communities and social networks. 

We rely on community support, lessons, jams, and events to keep operating, and anytime you can help us by attending and supporting activities at the "house" will help us to continue to operate.
