Who We Are 

Conveniently located at the southern end of downtown Lawrence and now on the west side of Downtown Topeka, The Americana Music Academy offers group and private music lessons in a relaxed setting with some of the region's most notable pickers, players, singers and songwriters. In addition, Americana provides Music Therapy for the disabled community in Lawrence and Topeka as well as a rich community of musicians of all ages, styles and musical abilities. 

Americana is a focal point for musicians throughout the region: We jam together, expand each other's musical horizons and do whatever we can to spread the word about America's roots music -- blues, jazz, bluegrass, rock, folk and all the other musical traditions that feed into and express the complexity of our unique culture. We come from all walks of life and all economic strata -- our connective tissue is the music we make and appreciate together.
